Full Biography
Scott Darby serves as an Operating Partner for New Catalyst. He and the New Catalyst team partner with GPs to implement firm formation best practices and accelerate portfolio company performance.
Previously, Scott led portfolio value creation efforts focused on market-leading software, enterprise technology, and impact investments across funds at TPG. In his roles, he underwrote deals and executed business-building efforts across several companies, partnering closely with deal teammates and company management teams to build healthy thriving businesses in both buyout and minority investments. In addition to portfolio transformation, he focused on specialized due diligence, board service, deal sourcing, and building TPG’s scaled operating capabilities around functional playbooks and executive best practice sharing across a broad base of portfolio companies and executive leaders.
Before TPG, Scott held diversified operating roles with Vista Equity Partners, Forcepoint, and AT&T. Scott and his family are also passionate about serving inner-city children, partnering with nonprofit organizations around the world on mentoring, necessities provisioning, and education programs to help students and families of diverse backgrounds thrive.
Scott earned an MBA with high honors and a concentration in entrepreneurship from The University of Texas at Austin. He also earned a BSBA in Marketing with Summa Cum Laude honors from the University of Missouri at Columbia.
